Edwards Yard Bash – Sunday 3rd November

It’s been a hectic Summer at Chandlers and have not had much time to arrange any tours in that time, hence the lack of updates over the past months, but recently I had some time to contact Edwards for a discussion and managed to arrange an Edwards Yard Bash visiting site’s around the Valley’s. Unfortunately due to time constraints we won’t be visiting the West Wales sites at Swansea and Pembroke, however we may be able to do this on a future tour, and this tour we visit 5 of their sites including the main Llantrisant depot.

Being a Sunday it is easier for their operations, and should have more vehicles to see as well, so will be starting at Newport Railway Station at 11:00am.

Car Parking at Newport Station is available at £10 for the day, or others appear to be £6 for the day

If you are coming by train to Newport, the tour connects with the following services:

08:45 London Paddington to Swansea (Newport 10:40)
09:24 Swansea to London Paddington (Newport 10:33)
10:07 Hereford to Fishguard Harbour (Newport 10:56)
08:00 Bristol Temple Meads to Newport at 09:33 (Rail Replacement Bus)

Pick up location outside the main entrance at Newport at the bus stops

Our first vehicle will be a 70 seater vehicle used on schools. Please note I have not requested any specific vehicle as you must understand they are a big operation and depends where the vehicles are and what’s available, but it will be a 70 seater either case. They may be in contact before the tour to advise what vehicle has been allocated to us.

From our first pick up we will travel a short distance to their Newport site and then we will travel around the Valley’s to the Abercynon, Wattstown and Llantwit Fardre site’s before travelling on to our last stop at the Llantristant Depot.

From here I have requested a Neoplan Starliner 2 to take us back to Newport Railway Station, again no specific registration requested, just the type.

Return time to Newport Railway Station is expected between 17:30 and 18:00 (or earlier if everything works to the timetable!)

There is no need to reserve a space, just turn up on the day, however I would appreciate if you could E-mail me at james37611@hotmail.com to express your interest so I have a rough idea of numbers and how many ticket’s to print out.

To cover the hire charge, price is £20 per person for the days tours, payable on the day
